To start off, let me explain why I’m doing this.

I was reading this excerpt from Joan Didion's article, "Why I Write." She mentions the surface-things that stuck in her head compelled her to write. I followed her lead, and begin writing about some of the pictures that have stuck in my head, trying to understand their meaning. In the end, it's just an exercise in writing.

Other than that, it gives me a place to tell all the stories stored up from childhood an adolescence that no one wants to hear.

I only hope this isn't going to be laghoo, this whole peripheries project.
